FAQs
Do I have take communion if I go to Church?
Communion is a time for being together and remembering all Jesus has done for us in His dying and rising again. The Bible tells us all believers make up the body of Jesus on earth, through the Holy Spirit who lives in us. So we celebrate communion to remind, relive and even restore this reality in us.
I have questions about faith but not sure I feel ready for Church, where can I go?
We are planning to run Alpha Courses twice a year, these are courses that give a safe, fun space to explore faith, ask questions, begin to form some friendships with others curious about faith. We have food together, a video and then discussion groups. No question is too wild. Check out the courses page for more info.
Are people friendly?
The Church aims to always welcome all people from all walks of life. God loves everyone and the Bible says we are all made in His image, so each of us reflects some of His glory. The Bible says we have all fallen from grace, but that Jesus has paid the price, so the Church should be the most grace-filled space. This Parish aims to love like God loves. We know we fall short but we keep trying. That love is described in 1 Corinthians 13 4-8 and is how Jesus loves us.
I would like to book an event at the Church or the Church Hall, what do I do?
First thing to do is contact the office - info@marchwoodandelingparish.org
Our Administrator will be able to help you with next steps, any prep that’s needed, forms and dates/times we have available.
Is there someone I can talk to before trying Church?
Absolutely! We have a Pop-In Cafe in our Church Hall on Thursdays - check the WhatsOn Page for more. Plus our team are always happy to meet for a coffee and connect with you. We know going to a Church can feel like a big step. Plus, it gives us an excuse for cake!
I find social spaces challenging, can I come but leave if needed? Is there a place to sit where I can just be quiet?
As a Church we want everyone to belong. We are working on being an accessible Church and we know we still have more to learn. Everyone is given space to be who they are. We are hoping to invest soon in our paths to make the building physically more accessible and also things like ear defenders and fidget toys in order to help if the space feels over stimulating. We know some might need to move around and we will make space for this where possible.
We hope all find their place with us and if you have any concerns or suggestions do let us know at info@marchwoodandelingparish.org.
