Our Story

This Parish is full of history, St Mary’s Church is a Saxon Church and so many of the other Churches around this area will likely track their history back to this as their mother Church. St John’s Church is victorian and has stood in Marchwood for generations as the village has grown and changed around her.

With such depths of history come deep roots of prayer and worship and as this Church family grows in faith, discipleship, prayer and numbers, we know this is only possible because of the Spirit at work here and the prayers of those who have ministered here before us.

The Parish of Marchwood and of Eling became one parish a couple of years ago. This is a big change for both parishes who have been one parish for hundreds of years and are now in the long process of navigating complexities of functioning both practically and relationally as one parish.

The good news is, this is bearing fruit! There are exciting things coming! The Church is going through a time of reflection and prayer, we sense it’s time to throw open our doors and welcome the community home to these places of encounter with God.

We can not wait to re connect with you all! Whether you are little or big, young or old, we want to meet you because you are loved by God, like us!
