Welcome to the first Weekly Round Up for Marchwood and Eling Parish! To be honest I will grab some bits from that last few weeks. This season has bought so much newness that some of us who thrive on change have been having a blast! It’s important to notice that for those who find change more of a challenge may be feeling a little unnerved. I love that Jesus promises to be with us in those liminal spaces as a Good Shepherd (Psalm 23), Abba Father, Sustainer and Perfecter and Prince of Peace. There is much more comfort we could pour into this space, but whatever you find yourself feeling note that God calls us to simply keep pace with Him, remember His is yoke is easy and His burden is light and in all things and change and trauma, He is working good for those who love Him.

We have some exciting things coming which we would love to share! We also have a great team from our Parish Administrator, to our PCC and all who help in varied ways working hard on some of the governance and fabric issues. This work is fairly hidden but it is key foundation building for the future. If you fancy reading a book in the Bible that really speaks into this check out Nehemiah! On our Pulpit Podcast there is an extra talk from this book that you may find helpful!

We have some information out about our Summer Sundays in August! We would LOVE to see lots of folks there as we continue to connect with the Parish. Two weeks are at St John’s Site and two are at our St Mary’s site. Our promo will be out in schools this week!

There has been wonderful connections with the Army, including going to the Veterans Breakfast and meeting serving members and veterans and building connections with those posted here in Marchwood. I even got to meet one of the best buglers in the under 18’s group!

We also have been chatting to Eling Tide Mill about how we might work together in future more closely.

I have been into Marchwood Primary School and Marchwood Infants School and am getting to know the children and exploring how we grow together. Some of you may have seen the stunning art work in St John’s! The whole school were invited to enter a competition to have their entry as the leaflet for the Marchwood Summer Fair on 5th July!

I am making efforts to build a deeper connection with the history of both sites and communities, while also encouraging a courageous and prayerful vision for the future of our sites and our expectation of all that God will do in the Parish.

So much is happening and at the same time wisdom is needed to remain in God’s timing and pace for us all. Would you pray with me as we move forward.
