7th July 2025 Round Up
What a weekend! We had our wonderful Marchwood Village Fete which saw a whopping £1039.70 raised for our roof fund. We want to say a big thanks to all who helped plan this wonderful event and those who helped on stalls. May I share a special thanks to the team from Marchwood and Eling parish for the support on the day. You are all amazing!
God is always doing great things and we are always amazed when we see Him working in our lives and community. We have Summer Sunday’s Coming and we can not wait! We are working with our local schools, working with the army, the diocese and other Churches - seeking the common good for our Parish. If you would like to pray for more why not come along to our Prayer Gatherings on Wednesday’s at 6pm - 6.30pm? We simply lift our community to God.
We know that the world and its unrest and suffering can be totally overwhelming. Our minds are not God’s mind and are not designed to worry about an entire planet! So, it’s no wonder when we come to prayer we stall at the first hurdle of where to start. This is where the Psalms, set liturgical prayers - like morning prayer or compline, prayer apps - like Lectio365 can help. But, sometimes simply asking God to be over all things in His wisdom and then asking what He would have us pray for can be the best way to pray with the Spirit, to slow it down and lift us what comes to mind.
Perhaps the most well known prayer can be a starting point for you?
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
